New wellness facilities
Since 2 September 2024, two nap capsules have been installed at LILLIAD (Cité scientifique campus), as well as two acoustic armchairs at the university’s law and management library.
This initiative aims to improve students’ physical, mental and social health by offering them places to relax where they can recharge their batteries so they feel more able to get on with their day.

Guiding students towards optimal sports practice
LIBEL’UL has launched its first doctoral contract dedicated to studying the effects of different forms of sport on physical fitness and well-being. The aim of this research is to adapt the teaching content of the SUAPS (University Physical and Sports Activities Department) to the profiles of students at the University of Lille, so as to enable them to choose the sports activity best suited to their profile, thereby promoting their academic and social success and sustainable physical activity.

Improving mental health support
• Improving psychological support for students
• Raising awareness and increasing mental health first aid training among staff and students to prevent accidents and provide support for people at risk

Student Projects: Service Learning
Service learning (SL) is learning by doing for a community. Service learning enables the student community to become involved in improving their academic environment by earning academic credits and acquiring new skills.
Three Student Project Teaching Units (Unités d’Enseignement Projet Étudiant – UEPE) linked to service learning are being tested by the Teaching and Innovation Support Department (Direction d’Appui à la Pédagogie et à l’Innovation – DAPI).

The LIBEL’UL project is supported by the General Studies Department (Direction Générale Déléguée Formation – DGDF).
The DGDF covers the entirety of a learner’s study pathway: from choosing an area of study with a view to admission to one of the many courses offered by the university to graduation and integration into working life. This extremely broad spectrum is a strength, as it ensures that the learner’s pathway through the university is continuous.
LIBEL’UL also draws on the expertise of the University of Lille’s departments and services.
