‘Precision health’ hub
Learn about the Université de Lille’s focus areas of excellence

The aim of this topic area hub is to make the Lille site one of the world’s leaders in precision medicine, and to place it at the forefront of translational biomedical research in Europe.
The aim of the ‘Precision health’ hub is to galvanise the work being carried out in a wide range of disciplines to create a network of internationally recognised researchers specialising in clinical sciences, molecular biology, genetics, chemistry, bioinformatics, mathematics and computer science, as well as social and environmental sciences.
By promoting cutting-edge collaborative projects, the target institution aims to strengthen and extend its current perimeter of excellence by harnessing the digital revolution and optimising its impact for patients and society, so that lifelong precision medicine becomes the new therapeutic standard.
The hub’s challenges
Promoting systems biology and precision medicine
Catalysing the digital revolution in biomedical research
Optimising the impact on patients and society
Cross-Disciplinary Projects
The Cross-Disciplinary Projects (CDP) aim to exploit the interdisciplinary mission of the topic area hubs to address the challenges of transitions. These projects closely link research and education. The CDPs help to raise the university’s profile, enhance its influence and consolidate its position as a stakeholder at the service of society.

WILL international chairs
As part of the France 2030 project WILL (Welcoming Internationals to Lille), the University of Lille funds international chairs. These chairs create high-level collaborations between a foreign senior principal investigator (PI), who is an expert in his or her field, and a research team at the University of Lille.
ICMINA

Exploiting acoustofluidics at the micro and nanoscopic scale
SPORT-1

Transforming the role of physical activity from a risk factor for glycemic fluctuations to a therapeutic approach reducing the risk of vascular complications in patients living with type 1 diabetes.
Interdisciplinary study
The University of Lille offers the ‘Precision Health’ graduate programme as part of the GRAEL project. This programme offers unique education in research excellence and aims to train students in the innovative concepts that will guide the research and healthof the future.
