What is NeurotechEU?

NeurotechEU is a European alliance of eight universities that have joined forces to develop a unique approach to education and research. It differs from other European alliances by bringing together its local assets and strengths (around 45 associated partners), defining specific social objectives and transcending institutional and national boundaries.

This interdisciplinary association is tackling urgent challenges in the field of neuroscience and medicine, using the latest technological and algorithmic developments (AI, robotics, brain imaging techniques) to help and support people suffering from neurological and psychiatric disorders. Beyond the healthcare sector, the NeurotechEU partners also see a growing need to combine different perspectives, to optimise computer architectures (biomimetics, neuromorphics), for instance, and better define and regulate the use of new neurotechnological devices (ethics, law).
