‘Energy Transitions’ SDG chair
Sustainable Development Goal 7 ‘Clean and affordable energy’
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 ‘Clean and affordable energy’ aims to ensure access for all to reliable, sustainable and modern energy services at an affordable cost by increasing the share of renewable energy and improving energy efficiency.
The ‘Energy Transitions’ SDG chair

One of the aims of the ‘Energy Transitions’ chair is to summarise the activities of the Lille site in the field of energy in order to highlight and promote the contributions made by the University of Lille to the development of clean, sustainable and available energy.
An interdisciplinary and interprofessional approach
The Energy Transitions Chair is part of an interdisciplinary approach. It aims to encourage and promote dialogue and collaboration between disciplines.
The planned initiatives are also aimed at a variety of audiences, including students, industrialists, competitiveness clusters, local authorities (the European Metropolis of Lille, the Hauts-de-France Region) and associations.
An approach focused on training
The Energy Transitions Chair is committed to promoting training programmes dedicated to energy in Lille, with the aim of attracting students to this strategic sector.
The Chair is working on the creation of a graduate programme for students at Masters level, as well as an annual forum dedicated to energy-related professions.
Inspiring Tomorrow Laboratory - Energies
In 2024-2025, the Energy Transitions chair will support the Laboratoire Inspirons Demain (LID) Énergies. The challenge of the LID is to bring together researchers from the University of Lille and local public authorities, as well as private players and associations, using a format inspired by participatory research. The aim is to cross-fertilise ideas and come up with proposals for better ways of looking at transitions. With this in mind, the LID is presented as an open laboratory that values the multiplicity of players and transdisciplinarity.
